About Us
A movement for fiscal responsibility
In the Black is a citizen-led effort advancing fiscal stewardship for future generations.
Why this work matters
America's rising national debt is more than an economic statistic.
It is a generational challenge that will shape the opportunities and stability available to future Americans.
Rising interest costs, growing federal dependence, and long-term fiscal imbalance threaten the resilience of both states and communities.
In the Black exists to confront that challenge with seriousness, clarity, and practical solutions.
How it began
In the Black started with a simple conviction: debt is not destiny.
A small group of concerned citizens came together around the belief that rising national debt and expanding federal dependence posed a long-term risk to the country's future.
What began as a conversation quickly grew into collaboration, bringing together leaders, educators, and citizens committed to restoring a culture of fiscal responsibility.
Today, that early effort has grown into a broader movement advancing stewardship and sustainable public policy.
